9th Annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Chaplin Creek Village. South of Franklin Grove on Whitney Road (State St. in town).

PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE from our traditional 4th of July date.

This one hour event begins at 9 a.m. sharp. This year reenactors depict delegates who signed the Declaration of Independence. Many Sauk Valley people participate each year in this patriotic presentation. Bring your own seating and plan to stay for refreshments. Afterwards stroll the grounds and visit the  historic buildings of this evolving prairie village.

There is no admission, but your generous donations ensure our ongoing operations.
